Possibly moving to Cape Coral, FL area.?

My husband and I are thinking about moving to Cape Coral, FL area in about a year. We just don't want to get stuck moving somewhere that the housing us outrageous and the jobs don't pay well. I am a drafter and my husband is a graphic artist. Any ideas what wages are around the area for those jobs? Thanks

For one, personally I moved to Florida a year ago, and ended up in Punta gorda at first. We looked around even Cape Coral, it seemed to me to look nice, but absolutley nothing to do, and without offending anyone, i thought it to be very white trashy. Well we ended up in Venice Florida very nice there. Jobs are not hard to find in this part of Forida, I myself am a CAD Technician. Well either way good luck.

I too lived in Punta Gorda for 7 years until moving to PA. The Cape Coral area has some "trashy" areas. If you could afford living near the water you may find some nice homes. It's just way too flat in Cape Coral and the streets are all straight. You could stand at one end of the street and see miles down the road with no problem. That is not very appealing. Depending on your line of work, you could make from $7 to $10 an hour which alot of people think is great. I really don't think that is a good thing though.

It beat living in the frozen tundra....but I prefer Sarasota County or Manatee
