help. i wanna move to florida!?

ok so i live in new jersey now. I'm in the army national guard and i leave for bootcamp on march 26. Whem i'm done i wanna move to florida but i dont even know where to begin. I wanna live as close to the beach as possible but i always have to be near a college as well. I heard the eastern coast is the more calm side so i looked there but i everything i find is miles from the beach. I wanna live somewhere not expensive but i dont wanna live in a dump either. Also if anyone knows where the headquarters for national guard is down there that would be a good place to bea near too. Basically i want a beach thats warm but not too expensive and a college not to far away. thanks for your help!

I think you heard wrong. The western coast is the more calm side as far as smaller waves and being less crowded with people. The east coast seems to have more people from the northeast, while the west coast seems to have more people from the midwest also.
