Should I move to Florida?

My only concerns are money (I'm from Minnesota and I believe Florida is a lot more expensive but I may be wrong), and out of state tuition.

I already left home once and I just think that right now is the last time I will have to just randomly give up everything and move away. I don't have a girlfriend, no job, and I only go home once a month.

Should I do it? What are some things that will surprise me down the road? Good idea or bad idea?
Edit for J.R.:
No debt. Car already paid off. My grandparents gave me 20,000 for college about 5 years ago so that built a little bit of interest over the years. I'm starting to lean more towards yes...Are the hurricanes really that big of an issue?

Go for it. As long as your debts are 0 what cant you do. Pay off your credit cards, car, and any other debts you have and ride out. Good Idea

if you are going to live near the ocean then probably a no. it has a nice view and stuff but it is dangerous because of all the hurricanes and floods. if you more near the center then a yes kinda because its going to be cheaper most likely.

Actually, Florida is a lot cheaper than it looks. In fact, there are many areas, like Fort Myers, Tampa, and even parts of Fort Lauderdale and Miami that are downright dirt cheap to live in!

Re: Should I move to Florida?

I'm originally from west central Minnesota...near the Fergus Falls area. We moved to Navarre, FL, (between Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach) about two years ago and absolutely love it. The people here are amazingly friendly and very down-to-earth. Housing is extremely inexpensive now, compared to 2006 and the beaches are gorgeous. The farther inland you get, the humidity seems worse because there is no ocean breeze to help cool you off. The schools in Santa Rosa county (Navarre area) are rated about the highest in the state.

If you have any questions about this area, I would be more than happy to help...

No. Because if you do, there may not be enough room for me. heh heh. I may move to Kimbers neck of the woods.. I liked it there a lot. Hey Kimber I showed you the pictures I took of Navarre, didn't I?

Sure did, Pan, and they were beautiful...almost as beautiful as it is in person, right? I still really don't have anything bad at all to say about this area. I almost feel guilty living here...it's like a permanent vacation. Sigh....
