Thinking about moving my family to Florida .. how is it to live in?

We live up in Mass and hate the weather. We have been to FL many times on vacation but have seriously been thinking of moving there. Possibly to Boca Raton area? Or Coral Springs? Is it nice to live there year round? Are the schools good? My husband does commercial moving .. is there any of that in Florida? Just would love to hear from people who live in Florida how they like it? I hear the bugs are BAD and the humidity is bad in summer but I can't take these long winters anymore. We are thinking of a gated community area. Please .. I'd love to hear your thoughts and any suggestions.

I have lived in Key West, Orlando and Pensacola. It's always humid but (except for hurricanes) the weather is usually very good. The closer to the beach you get, the more expensive it is.

Everyone needs movers, and Florida is no exception.

The closer you live to swampy areas, the more bugs there are. Key West has no real bug problems, Pensacola had a few inland mosquitos and Orlando is full of bugs.

I don't know about Florida (sorry) but I would seriously consider California. Now that the housing bubble has been popped rent and houses are more affordable. Plus the weather is the best in the country. Even Northern California like Sacramento is very nice and good place to raise kids. I was born and raised in Sac. and now live in Southern Cali. I love both places. My kids like both places as well. Oh and there aren't any hurricanes or swamps.

SW coastal FL...great place...not cheap...not for people that are broke though...

I live here and inLa Jolla, CA....I choose to spend most time here in FL

Living in Florida (or just visiting there) is SO MUCH BETTER than California. Florida is CLEAN. California is Not and has the worst pollution and traffic in the country. The traffic is horrendous. Not to mention its famous for being Ridiculously EXPENSIVE. And the beaches in CA can`t even BEGIN to compare to Florida`s beautiful beaches...
