Has anyone moved to Clearwater, Florida?

My wife is being transfered there for work, so i'll need to find a FULL TIME long term administrative position before we move there. I have an extensive backround in the publishing/sales industry.

Clearwater, St Petersburg and Tampa are great places to relocate to and all within close proximity to each other. This is the right time of the year to begin a move as housing costs drop dramatically with the close of tourist season. Fall will see the costs sky rocket again. Have you established your profile and resume with Monster. com? I would recommend it for a start and then perhaps a quick trip to the area to scope out what sort of business your are looking for. Hillsborough County Florida is a great place to live and work.

Re: Has anyone moved to Clearwater, Florida?

Well Clearwater and St.Pete area are in Pinellas county, Not Hillsborough county. Hillsborough county is the city of Tampa, on the Bay side, not on the west coast by the beaches. Its Much better to live in Pinellas county, not Tampa if you want to live close to the beaches and not in the city of Tampa. I prefer St.Pete area over Clearwater ANY day,(for many reasons) and I have lived in both. Clearwater can be a zoo. Highway 19 in Clearwater is not something you want to deal with regularly. Living in St.Pete is so much nicer, IMHO. And Clearwater beach is way too CONGESTED, OVER-Crowded and commercialized, and has a teen-age/ college age `spring break` mentality/flavor which can get annoying unless thats who you are. But Just south of Clearwater beach all along Gulf blvd. there are great beaches to choose from all the way down to St.Pete beach, which is Very nice. The south end of St.Pete beach is an area called Pass-a-Grille beach, which is pure Heaven! Like a postcard. unspoiled, beautiful, Not crowded, tropical paradise. And no major commercialism and hotels crowding on this beach. Just several miles of white sand beach. But if you have the choice to live in St.Petersburg or Clearwater, I would definitely choose St.Petersburg. (or the St.Petersburg area)
