my family and I are thinking of moving to Florida with our family?

Our family is thinking of moving to northern Florida. WE are looking in the St. Augistine area. We are looking for a good ecomy with the ocean, afforable houses, good schools. I am in the mortgage business and my husband is a Realtor. Can anyone from this area or know of the area give me some feed back about Florida and all the above?

The St Augustine area is a delight. We have visited there many times. Alot of history there. As for mortgage and/or relator jobs, well the state isn't doing very well in that arena.
Not sure where you are now, but Florida is a different lifestyle from what Northerners are accustomed to. I always say it's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there again.

Grew up in Florida.

can you afford homeowners insurance that is more than the mortgage payment every month that is if you can get any. They still do not like people from the north moving there.
