Florida storms

Now since these recent outbreaks of Tornados, do you think this is going to hurt the real estate market even more than before? I think so.

I hope so, it needs to come back down more.

Re: Florida storms

I really think it's up to what a person wants out of life. Storms can happen all over.

I still would. Living with the possibility of Tornadoes is normal to me after growing up in Minnesota.

If you watch the news long enough you will see storms and disasters all around the world. Just because a storm or disaster hasn't been in a place for months or years... doesn't mean that it couldn't ever happen there.

That is so true. I went through Hurricane Charley and it really scared me.
I know that things happen everywhere. Florida is beautiful and I still want to come down in the winter months. The housing market is a mess everywhere right now. I say if you wanna buy a home in Florida just do it. There is a dream home waiting for the right buyer. The buyers that bought our home are so excited and couldn't care less about the weather. They found their piece of paradise right here in Punta Gorda. There are great buys out there now.

I think so too. I have never seen so many Florida plates here in Arizona like I have recently. It's becoming as often as I see California plates.

I just crossed Florida off my list. If we have something like that in Charlotte I'm outta there too. I'll head back to AZ so fast it will make my husband's head spin off.

Re: Florida storms

I know this sounds selfish, but I really hope that Florida real estate does plunge because we are here to stay and are planning on buying a house within the next year. Tornadoes happen in a fair share of states and it's impossible to know when they will hit, but thanks to modern technology, at least we know when there will be a greater percentage chance of them hitting. I still say, though, at least people usually have ample warning when hurricanes are forecast to hit. I still LOVE Florida!

I say to buy now in Florida. Nothing is guaranteed that the prices of homes in Florida will stay at the lowered prices that they are at now. Why wait?

P.S. Florida has mostly 365 days of beautiful sunny days too.

They are still way above where they were a couple years ago in many parts of Florida. I watched them go up and have been watching them drop again in some places there. I think they will come down even more.

Re: Florida storms

If you are priced right and have a home in tip top shape it will sell.
Mine did and at a higher price then other homes in my community.
You need to have that special something that makes a buyer want your home.
