Admin, is it time to open the site up?

I know you want to keep pesky ****ty-data mods away, but you are shooting yourself in the foot by doing that. Who cares if they come here. It is a public forum on the web.... open invitation to all!!! So why continue to limit access to people that have made a couple of posts. The spiders will never find the info that goes on in the areas that most people currently post in, and that will slow the time down for this site to reach top rankings. I belong to a few other forums that hide nothing. You can view everything and no membership is required. If a forum is truly open to all on the web, don't you want it to REALLY be open? And if there are spies here.... they are already here and can read everything anyways. What do you care? Open it up and stop hiding the active sections. Let the spiders find everything and more people will find this place, and when they come here, they will see activity and want to join and stay.

Whoa... I just saw spiders viewing stuff that was in the lounge area. Is the site open, or are the spiders just sneaky?

It has been open for a couple weeks or more.

We now have 1,190 results in the google index and are starting to come up on the front page for a few things.

Cool. Nothing like being exposed to the World.

On a sailing forum I frequent that is open, I would sign my name area with my name and the boat I had. It was a rare boat in the US, so everytime I did a google search for that boat, all my posts from that forum would appear. I had to take the boat name off my signature as I was tired of everyone looking up info on that boat found my posts not related to that boat. It is amazing how much info Google stores.
