Log off and on and unread become read

I have a question. Today is the first time I've encountered it so I'm not sure if it's normal or if it's the way I have my account set up.

Normally, I read everything that is unread and then log off. Today was the first time that I was online and there were 2 or 3 messages that were yet to be read. I got a phone call and had to run. So I logged off and got my running done, thinking that when I came back, I'd read those that I hadn't read before. When I logged on, everything showed as it had already been read. There were no blue shaded icons, nor were there any that were "Bold".

Is it something I have set up? I went back through my setup and couldn't find anything like "Mark all as read when loggin off."

Wyoming, That's how it's been with me for some time.
Don't know why.
So, I've been going in thru the live-feed hole ... which makes for better reading anyhow but somebody once said that it isn't accurate or we miss something there.
I'm thinking it must be time for ... dig it ... TALKSTATES LIVE!!

Hi,

I always go to live feed first. See what is there. Then I go to posts on the top menu and go back 3-4 days to see if I have missed anything. It brings up all the ones I haven't read in dark blue. Then there is a line that says "Below post haven't changed since your last visit."

I rarely go to the other part of the site that list all the forums. The only time I go there is to see who is online at the bottom. The live feed page doesn't show that. Also I count the number of viewings on the forum list to see how many are actually on...some folks run in invisible mode.

I also go to the members page on the top menu...and click date last posted...to see who has been here lately. That is how I could tell Wyody had been gone for a few days.

It's like yaking over the back fence with the neighbor when you've been gone for a few days.

I'm kinda of the noisy neighbor who ask anyone I haven't seen in your yard before..."Can I help you?" I'm also the one that notices if the newspapers are piling up, and if you are taking care of your animals...

You know I use to love neighbors like me. Because my kids couldn't throw parties are nothing. The neighbor would always call me...one time she called me to say...The UPS guy didn't ring the bell...he just left the package.:) My kids hated those wonderful neighbors (hah)

The good old neighborhoods.
