I hate feeling stupid.

between the Quote and the quick buttons is that little multi quote button.

How exactly is that used? I feel like a real dummy here...

Yeah, I was going to ask the same thing. Also, how do you quote just part of a message?

Press the multi-quote button for all the posts that you want to quote at once, then press Post Reply at the bottom of the thread.

You have to quote the whole thing, then remove what you don't want.

It does work across multiple threads, but there is one extra step. After you press the Post Reply button, if you look just below the box where you type, it will say "You have selected X post(s) that are not part of this thread. Quote these posts as well, or deselect these posts." and you just click "Quote these posts as well".
