Need more info on how avatars work, please

Hi,

I've got an email into the admin. on what am I doing wrong...I've tried several different ways to add an Avatar and it just isn't working. I think more info should be in the instructional part when doing it.

I choose custom avatar and I first tried to load it from my computer using the area for that. It came back invalid file...when I pushed the finished button.

Then I tried loading it from my personal website storage area using the http path. It came back invalid file...

Then I tried changing the file format in photo shop from a jpg to a gif.
and loading it from my personal website using the http...invalid format.

INVALID IN WHAT WAY PLEASE:)

When you browse to find the picture on your computer, change the view to "thumbnail" so you can see the pictures. I have before tried to download was was only a link vs. the real thing. JPEG is the best format, so it should not be a format issue. Hopefully admin will be able to help more.

Could you email the original picture to me? I should then be able to see what the problem is.

Alright, you should be able to do it either way now. Even from the original jpg as long as it is under 2MB. That was my fault. I forgot to reinstall the image processing software after I reinstalled our operating system yesterday. Anybody would have had the same problem today. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
