I didn't like them. It also causes some people to make two or more accounts just so they can give themselves extra points.

They can be amusing, but I think it's better to leave them out, what with all the fighting over something that really has no bearing on anything anyway.

Or, maybe give each poster the option of enabling or disabling their rep score? I'd think disabled by default, that way only people who give a darn will have one.
