Couldn't get on site this morning getting this message

Hi Everyone,

I was getting this message this morning. Was just now able to get back on the site. Did it happen to anyone else?

Zend Optimizer not installed

This file was encoded by the Zend Encoder / Zend SafeGuard Suite

In order to run it, please install the freely available Zend Optimizer, version 2.1.0 or later.

What is the Zend Optimizer?

The Zend Optimizer is one of the most popular PHP plugins for performance-improvement, and has been freely available since the early days of PHP 4. It improves performance by taking PHP's intermediate code through multiple Optimization Passes, which replace inefficient code patterns with efficient code blocks. The replacement code blocks perform exactly the same operations as the original code, only faster.

In addition to performance-improvement, the Zend Optimizer also enables PHP to transparently load files encoded by the Zend Encoder or Zend SafeGuard Suite.

The Zend Optimizer is a freely-available product from Zend Technologies. Zend Technologies is the company that develops the scripting engine of PHP, also known as the Zend Engine.

By the way I'm on a mac. So I don't even know if the plugin would have worked. Didn't try it.

Admin, do you have your site hosted with a shared host, or are you on a private server?

I know from experience that message boards, unless they are small and private - without really growing much, do much better, and have little downtime, on private servers.

I have my own board and we have experienced this often.

We are on a dedicated server. People were getting that message while I was installing Zend PHP Optimizer and XCache on the server, as well as tweaking a few other settings to hopefully help speed up load time which people were asking about in the following thread.

Delay on loading

Mr. Admin, If you really cared about us, you would call us on the phone and let us know you are working on the site . We panic because the thought of losing this site creates instant panic

Thanks for the upgrade, hope it works.

I don't have any phone numbers.

I actually didn't think that it was going to cause any down time or I would have posted a notice first and done it late at night as I have done in the past. It ended up causing the site to be down while I configured a couple files.
