I try and be careful of my wording with everything I post. I wish that I could make everybody here to the same, but I can't and really don't want to be another city-data.

I do know that many people who live on the boarder states and experience what is happening with illegal aliens are expressing stong feelings about it. Saw it at C-D very clearly. Whether you can blame them or support them, the feelings are there and are very strong. If I hear someone who posts that they lived there and got out due to what is happening, and they say that they left because they "hated Mexican's", I could either conclude that they are mexican racists, or I can conclude that they hate what is happening due to the illegal immigration issue. Without further posts to clarify... I personally would resist hanging that title on someone.

You know, we American's tend to hate other races during certain periods of time. Germans and Japanese, Chinese, north Koreans, North vietnamese, russians or commies, iraqies, afganastanies. These are during times of conflct and war. Many see the problems in the boarder states are being a kind of war.

So, a proclaimation that Pan left because he hates Mexican's does not sound great, but to hang a title on someone too quickly is not something that I want to do. It took a PM from Rainbow before I hung that title on her, and that was days after I was 95% sure of it.

I would post more on this, but I'm beat and went to bed a hour ago... right.

naw I rather like your sig.. it makes me laugh. But I agree with what you have to say here.. ball busting is something guys do.. I guess women too. Its that bonding we use to show we are man and yet able to take a ribbing from one another.. its all good. And dont worry.. you could never run me off.. but you can continue to try. =)

If I say something that angers you, ask me to clairify it.. I will do what I can.. I know sometime the things I say can sound a bit raciest. Its just frustration of living in a border town and seeing a place I love go to crap. I dont hate gays, hispanics, or kids with special needs. Maybe as we get to know one another that will become more apparent.

My vote goes to Chicagoland, Illinois. Pretty much awful in every way shape and form and sinking like the Titanic. Illinois is, like, literally draining all the life out of me! Worse, I was born and raised in Chicagoland. 51st place and sliding for services for people with disabilities, a philosophy of "keep the disabled separate from non disabled", fake, plastic, snobby women who only ever mingle with the richest men in society, a critical lack of any type of friendliness towards one another, especially towards anyone who is even a quarter milimeter different than themselves, a pace of life that is capable of shoving slower paced individuals completely off the track, and the farther I go from the actual city of Chicago, the worse it gets, peaking especially in DuPage County, where saying "hi" to a hot young gal, even in a friendly and innocent manner can very easily get a non neighbor in trouble.

First off I agree with the op's 'disclaimer',as some of us are so used to the backlash on some other forums...

And triton what an observational way to put things! It's these apparently rare types of people that see this grind that happens before them on a daily basis that are the most qualified to comment...not some tourist 'know-it-all',journalist wannbe pollyannas that come prancing through and try to claim they know all about an area.

I can say the same things from living in the 'trenches' here in Philly for years now...I've heard it said 'be careful how long you live in the city,it will harden you'. Truer words were never spoken,at least in my personal experience.
