You really need to live where the family is. Period! It doesn't matter how big a house is or how much it will be worth either. Family should be number one :)
I realized this after living in Florida for 6 1/2 years and being away from our families.

Merry Christmas to all!

In my opinion that depends on your situation and definition of family. I consider my wife and our possible future children to be my family and they will move with me. I will move where I can best provide for them.

I would never try to live and make a living in the redneck middle of nowhere farm town area that most of my extended family(aunts/uncles/cousins/grandparents/etc) will never leave. My parents worked too hard to get me and my siblings away from there to give us better opportunities in life and provide us with nicer things growing up. I am also not into coon huntin' and whatever other things that they do for fun there.

Most of my wifes extended family lives outside the country.

Re: Where to buy now

If you see your family all of the time, stay close. if you never see them and you need to move, go. Your family will usually visit.
