Re: Here's the next Pres!!!

I received a disturbing forward yesterday concerning Obama - maybe some of you have seen it and I'd love to hear input on it.
I won't post the fwd - think I deleted it but the gist was this: That Obama was religiously educated by his blood-father (his parents divorced when he was young) and this education consisted of a radical Muslim sect like the ones that seem given to the terroism and violence we're seeing today. It went on to say that, even though he (Obama) joined the United Church of Christ that he is, in reality, "a wolf in sheep's clothing".
Not that I intend to vote for him but I would appreciate more info and even opinions on this.

One would think. However!, with so many currently dissatisfied voters and no clear front-runner having yet emerged ... well, were you watching American Idol last year when one really popular contestant got voted off and another really "iffy" contestant went on to take second-place? The reasoning was that everybody voting just kind of assumed Mr. Popular would get enough votes and so, spread their votes around.
Does this kind of reasoning scare you into considering the possibility of a President Osa ... ooops ... Obama??

I'll see if I hear anything about this on Sean or Limbaugh. I know we won't hear it anywhere else. Don't worry the Clintons will not let him get very far, infact the Clinton's are probably the ones that put together that email

Limbaugh's still around ?!? Amazing. Next, they'll bring back Pat Robertson!
But, so far as the Clintons or somebody putting that e-mail together, that's why I brought it to you folks - to try and determine if it has any merit.
I don't care for the P.R. twists going on these days - they so misrepresent the truth - but it works. Case in point: In 2000, the "R's" started spreading the myth that Gore would "take your guns away" - when in fact, they (the Dems) were only echoing what the R's were also saying - that some kind of control had to be put on who got what gun to use illegally but the public was swayed nonetheless - And I'm not saying this to spark debate on those issues or candidates - I'm just saying that the "twist" misleads us all - and if the twist on Osa.... whoops (did it again) OBama is inaccurate then, it's another good example of poorly-moraled twisting. (oh, just look at me - throwing my own twist by totally innocent typos). Bad Dog.
*Note to Rainbowwaves - Ah, the starter of the thread, keeper of the faith.
I'll read that link to Rudy eventually - he may be all I've got left!

Al Gore's plan for gun control was different in critical areas then the Republicans like getting rid of cheap guns. By doing this you have eliminated the poor out of being able to purchase. His intentions where to sneak in programs that would keep track of Americans that own guns. He wanted ever body to register there gun in every state. How many criminals do you know that would do that? It was a play to keep tabs on people that own weapons that way if push came to shove the gov can come in and get it at anytime. I posted both sides link bellow.

By the way my friends, did you know that there are some politicians that are actively trying to get rid of TALK RADIO? There is what is called the Fair Act law or something to that affect and they feel they are not fairly portrayed by talk show hosts and it doesn't give them a fair shake...so what will happen you'll have to pay to listen...like with Howard Stern...grrrrrrrrr

I believe the perception differs from the intent. Repubs already had a clear idea while the Dems were just trying to form one.
However, I might concede that Dems probably make bad cops in this light as the approach gets broken-down in intellectuality, study-groups and committees.
Peace and thanks for the link.

Don't let the perception that the Dem's are so much smarter control your thinking. There tactics are always noticeable and exposed for all to see. There name itself is deceiving. Liberal, ask anybody that is foreign and they will contribute that to meaning the party of freedom. They like using the terms like the Democratic Party. They are the Democrat Party not the Democratic Party. The use of that is to confuse the mind of many in thinking they are the only real people that are democratic. They hide in back of green peace global warming. You think they generally care about those issues. Let me tell you it doesn't matter if your a Democrat or a Republican politics is ugly. Everybody thinks they are going to vote in the most smarter the most honest of the parties. They are being deceived. First one has to understand no one holds the smart or the honesty card in politics. There is no such thing. They are all ruled by the same force the power of money. When one understand the rule of engagement your ready to vote. I myself take the time to study the person that is willing to protect our constitution not distort it in anyway. I believe that is the commandments of America. Then I get down on my knees and pray that I made the right decision. But at no time do I think that person hold the smart or the honesty card.

Re: Here's the next Pres!!!

Very well put, Cuban.
It is hard to tell anymore who is in the majority. We of the Boomer age have drifted right and the "new left" scares me. The far right has always scared me. I would place myself "on the fence" but it's all barbed-wire out here!
Democrats do seem to be trying to address issues and concerns that the Repubs seem to have been simply ignoring for quite some time now yet, many of us are armed with the knowledge that there is only so much any congress or president can do ... or should do. Something definitive is lacking in our progress ... something missing from the radar-scope. I can see it when I go to the store or the gas-station. I can see it when I'm watching a drug bust up the street. I can see that it's missing when I read the paper. I can see it is missing when I tune in CNN or even TBN. I can see it when I cash my paycheck, I'll hear it or realize I'm not hearing it all through the campaigns, at the conventions and even when the voting results are coming in ... but Cuban ... I don't know what it is!!!!
In my youth, I could wildly and fairly-intelligently point it out but then, I grew into a member of the "bigger picture" and realized it's too big to possibly be invisible - but it seems to be just that - invisible. Almost too bad as almost everything I believe in is also invisible - I only wish the problem wasn't.

Re: Here's the next Pres!!!

Yes I heard about those losers trying to stifle talk radio it's those open minded liberals that are for free speech, diversity and being tolerant. I guess they are only for free speech when you are saying what they want you to say. What a bunch of hypocrites. They are so open minded their brains fell out.

Yes Limbaugh is still around and has the highest rated show by far.......

BTW I am a Rudy Supporter. I don't have any other choices. I'd rather hang myself than vote for that 2 faced McCain.

Good Morning Tag-Team. AIM, just wondering how you know it's the liberals - I thought liberals were busy listening to NPR instead of talking on the radio? I don't listen to talk radio - do like much of the content of NPR but just can't hang ... borrrrring. Listen to Paul Harvey still, though - can't break the habit totally - even though he did buy in to supporting WalMart.
And I agree about McCain - it galls me that the mild-mannered right-wing so sucks into the man - from what I've seen, it's the older folks - who see him as a "good boy" but there are probably many other types.
Cuban - I think you're right. I know my wife will probably agree with you - about staying nearer to God. I'm not sure that any reversal of current trends in that regard would improve our current political blandness. In fact, as I think about it, it's our history of over-zealous-without-cause approach to religious-expressionism that may have helped to cause this problem! Ex-preacher here. "Big Guy" is, I'm sure, not real interested in politics. But I'm still with you - man is not enough by himself to do anything right!

The libs are leading the charge for this Un-fairness doctrine. It's a communist based doctrine drawn up on intolerance. They are upset because Air America tanked and they can't compete with talk radio in the free market so that is how they will try to control the airways. Yes they are busy listening to NPR but I don't know how they stay awake.

Saw on CNN tonight where this was an inaccurate smear spread by a small, conservative faction. They proved (?) that he did have some Islamic education but at a public school in, I believe, Indonesia. Don't know if anyone else reported on it or saw it. Obama has not hid this part of his past - having told the story in two different books.
Still probably not voting for him though. 1) Too inexperienced 2)From Illinois. <wry grin>

Your first mistake was to tune into CNN for the news I could have told you who they were going to blame it on. The Clinton machine is well oiled and all gassed up. They will destroy Obama and make it look like the Republicans did it. The Republicans are not afraid of Obama it's the Clintons that want him squashed like the bug that he is.

Okay, Okay, Okay - I just can't compete with facts. I remember the old days when conservatives couldn't get things straight. Sigh, I miss the old days!
Now, who's responsible for me not being able to smoke anywhere but my house??? 'Cause whoever they are, even though they're right, I'm aligning against them. We're just not ready for these radical changes in this generation's twilight!
Oh, and I read what I could about Rudy (dial-up - can't download all of it) but it didn't tell me enough to make any decisions. Poor Rudy seems like a nice guy and all but I hate to think of the presidency happening to a nice guy.
Might buy the Christopher Walken T-shirt though.

Oh, and I read what I could about Rudy (dial-up - can't download all of it) but it didn't tell me enough to make any decisions. Poor Rudy seems like a nice guy and all but I hate to think of the presidency happening to a nice guy.

It's the liberals again trying to ban your smoking rights too. They banned transfats from restaurants in NY. I wonder if Obama wins the Presidency will they ban him from smoking in the White House.

As far as Rudy is concerned I don't have any other choices. At least I know Rudy is a liberal upfront but tough on those Arabs. McCain???? I don't know what he is. I bet he decides to run on the same ticket with Hilary once he loses the Republican primary.
