My lame theory

Well I have a theory (if I choose to live in Orlando/surrounding area, FL).

It's not predicted to go underwater in the next 50 years like the coasts "could" - good! The crime is high but there should be a safe city close enough.

What I think is REALLY idiotic is that a lot of people are flocking to the Carolinas and Georgia. Uhm, that's what caused Florida's problems, overcrowding. They're causing the same thing they try to escape! It's so ridiculous.

Florida looks good, so many people knock it but seriously, are they exagerrating? It cannot be that hellish or people would ALL be leaving, not people coming and going (well, you know, it would be a lot bigger amount of people leaving then going).

Thoughts?

(posted in General US due to mention of other states, which I don't mind discussing - NC is getting really crowded and looks to be becoming another Florida without the benefits of Florida)

Re: My lame theory

North Carolina and Georgia are not anywhere near crowded yet.

Each of them still has around 10 million less people than Florida.

I do see a lot of Florida license plates here though.

Re: My lame theory

But see, people are trying to escape crowds that are just going to build up.

In 10 years they might only have a few million less then Florida. However, they don't have the infrastructure to handle the extra people.

I don't understand why people say "oh the heat humidity I want to leave", well I don't think Georgia is that huge of a difference. It's hot and humid most of the year there too. North Carolina has a winter, but still, you could do better to escape heat.

Are you suggesting a new promotional motto for the Greater Orlando Chamber of Commerce: "The Baton Rouge of the 21st Century!"

Re: My lame theory

No, I'm just saying that Florida is crowded, people try to escape, but the crowds are just going to end up the same way in GA, NC, etc.
