I setting myself up for a hard time? I have a degree in Accounting but not much experience about a 1 year and 6 months worth. I don't know anyone in the city so I would have find a place to stay. I can afford the basics for a few months. How do I get an interview with a company while I'm still in New York? Is that even possible with my short amount of experience? I don't have any family in Atlanta so I can't use someone's address as my own.

If you have enough money for an apartment and all living expenses for a six month period, then that might be long enough to get something and be well in the safe zone. Enough money for less time, maybe, but it can always be a gamble. What you'll find may not be a dream job at first, but with your level of experience (not much) you can't be real picky starting out. In terms of a local address, you could I suppose rent a box at one of the UPS stores (or similar) where they assign you a number instead of a POBox designation, which to employers might look like an apartment address. Not having a local address of some sort will get you few (if any) callbacks.

It may also mean sharing a 2BR apartment with a roommate, as 1BR units are typically in the $750 range, and that's if it's not on the main drags of the city (the most popular areas can see rents as high as $1050 for a studio or more). Sharing a 2BR will at least save a few $.
