| Should I move to Atlanta to finish school?
I live in Philadelphia right now and am thinking of moving to Atlanta. Right now I'm going to community college, but I just want out of Philly. Should I move to Atlanta to finish school? I'm 22 years old and need a change. The thing is I would be living on my own in ATL where now I'm living with my mom rent free. So am I dumb to want to leave?

Do you have a school in mind? Or a career path? You will probably be paying out of state tuition to attend school in Atlanta. SO do you have any money saved up. ??? Health Insurance? A vehicle? Rent money? Tuition money? Why do you want to move to Atlanta if you are living rent free??? Just some questions to consider.

no you're not "dumb" to want to be on your own. You're 22 and maybe it's time to try life out on your own terms! It's an exciting time for you! Atlanta is a great place. Go for it! Just make sure you can afford a little place of your own and your expenses- and remember, they're always higher than you think! Have fun- but not too much fun! This is coming from a grandma who probably won't want to let her grandsons go when it's time in a few years!!!! Good luck!

Sorry, I have to disagree. You have no rent to worry about now, and most likely you don't have THAT long before you finish school. Focus on school now, living at home with few bills. Then, once you get your degree, move to Atlanta or any other city that after you research a bit you decide to move to, and start your new life with your new degree and a job. Do you really want to have to worry about finishing school while you're moving out on your own for the first time, AND moving to a city hundreds of miles away - all at once? Finish school first. Get the degree. THEN move. Years from now you'll be thankful you had the patience to not try to do it all at once. |
