If I were to move to Georgia and wanted to buy a house, would it be cheap?

"Cheap" is a relative term. Compared to New York City? Yes. Compared to Minot,N.D.? No.

Like the first person stated: you are not likely to find a house in those two cities for a low price. If you are intent on living in Georgia, you might try looking in a smaller town or city...perhaps in the southwest part of the state or maybe in the middle southern part. Another thing to keep in mind is that you'll probably be required to pay state income tax in Georgia. It certainly won't be the lowest cost of living in the country; but, if you're used to Left Coast prices...it should make you happy.
