I want to move to Hawaii with my kids, can it be done?

I work in the healthcare industry as a software analyst for a major hospital and clinic system in Wisconsin. Most of the hospitals in Hawai'i use this system and it is in hiigh demand. I see from the hospital web sites I could move there and start working tomorrow someowhere in the $30 range per hour. I have three boys, young teenagers. Can I move there with no connections, only a job ready? How hard could it be? Would Hawai'i be fun? Would I be able to spend weekends on the beach and bike riding to fun places with my kids. Or would I come to regret it because I would be working so much or living too far away from things. I just want to know how I could make it work with my kids. I want to live in the tropics because I am sick of snow. I live in Wisconsin and for five months of the year, it is freezing with snow as far as the eye can see. I need to get away.

Hawaii is very expensive. Also, it is difficult to get a car. It's not much different than moving to a different state.

Where is the kid's mother? If she is still alive, you may run into custody issues. Hawaii is fun, but it has it's share of weather issues. You haven't seen rain until you've seen it in Hawaii!!! Have you ever even been to Hawaii?

It can be done. It's not as easy as you think... However, your new employer should be able to hook you up with someone who can help you sort out the basics such as finding you a rental, locating schools, etc.
