...racisim. Are the rumors true?? My hubby is Native Indian And, I am white, as a white girl can get! We have three kids that would be school age. I have heard my kids would not be treated as equal at school and, that my hubby would be over looked or even let go at work if a local could replace him. Is this true???

For your concerns about discrimination in the school system, contact the Department Of Education. Link below.

For your concerns about discrimination in regards to labor, contact the Department of Labor. Link below.

Just do searches at the sites to find what you want to read, or for a contact phone number, or for an address (email or snail mail) to write to them.

Another thing you can do is a Google search on the words "Hawii: Schools" I did that and got many Hawaii links. One lists all the shcools in Hawaii (all levels). I pasted the link below (in the source list window).

Another Google search you can do is on the words "Hawaii: Jobs" I did it and got tons of links for government jobs, school jobs, construction jobs, etc.

From all these links you can get addresses (possibly email, certainly snail mail) and you can take it from there. Contact these people and share your interests and fears. I seriously doubt you have any need to fear descrimination. But you don't know that for sure, so you need to find out for yourself.

No one on Yahoo Answers can appease your fears completely. You've got to get in there (on the internet) and snoop around, read alot, and contact a lot of people, preferably by email (because it's quick and easy) but also by snail mail if need be to get the answers you need. I wouldn't hesitate to contact schools and employers directly.

Good luck.

Hawaiians are cool people, some of the friendliest.. I'm a Canadian myself. I personally wouldn't want to live under the American government right now. It's not a very good time to be one of them.
