I'm moving to Boise, Idaho, tell me about the city please!?

I'm moving and have only been to Boise once. So I was wondering what the city is like. Where are the good restaurants and bars? What is there to do that's fun? Where are good camping and hiking areas? And where is the best shopping? Thanks for the help!

I have never been to boise but I know a little about Idaho. My father would take my sister and I up there to fish. Anyways, Idaho is a green state with lots of potatos. I know there are plenty of hiking trails and camping is all around. I guess the best shopping would be at the malls.

I lived in Boise for a time. its a great area.. your in that small area between Desert, Forest and Mountains. There are all sorts of areas to hike.. and bike.. Boise is real good about the biking thing. The best shopping was n this centralized shopping zone they had. the mall was there plus many other entertainment venues. Like the Spectrum Building. You'll find it on Overland and Highway 84, just about where the 84 184 junction is.

Boise has grown so much since I was there last, that the near by cities and Boise have all merged into one major city.

I used to live right about Ann Morrison Park, we walked there all the time and feed the geese and ducks. in the summer they turn the fountains on and it was fun to watch the kids play in them. It was a walk, but we even walked downtown to shop and eat.. some great places to eat down there.. and bars if your into that sorta thing.

Good luck on your move to Boise its a awesome city. I really liked it.

Oh I left out Bogus Basin, a ski area less than an hours drive from Boise. I used to see it at night from my house... awesome place to night ski.
