Just wanted to have the second post in the Idaho forum... Where all the Idaho people? Are we just worried about c-d and Bush? That's the only stuff I've read so far... Let's move on... I grew up in Idaho Falls, spent a lot of time in the central and eastern Idaho mountains, worked at the site for 3 summers and full time for a year, and now I'm in CT. Couldn't stand the cold and the wind. I don't mind a little cold but not that cold. Here's my path: Oversees--> all over the U.S.--> Idaho --> Utah --> Texas --> Colorado --> Georgia --> CT. Okay, anyone else move out of Idaho? Odd question I know considering this is posted in the Idaho forum. |

Well I have a Idaho question... how much do you know about Western Idaho? I am in WA and want to take a trip to Western Idaho but was wondering what was there to see and do.

Hi, Only been through there once, at night. When it was thunder and lightening. But we are planning to retire in the next 10-15 years and won't beable to do it in CA on a fixed income. We want to move in the next couple of years to a state we will retire in. So I have been researching different states and I seem to keep coming back to Bosie, ID. One, we are lds, and idaho has a large population of lds. So we think we will be welcome on that point. Two, Homes are real reasonable compared to CA. Three, my husband works outdoors a lot so didn't want to move where there was to much snow. I know it gets cold in Boise, but not as cold as other parts of the state. And I'm sure they must move forklifts in doors to be worked on in the winter, my husband is a forklift mechanic. Last of all it is only 10 hours by car, and only $200. by plane round trip (approx.) to visit family in CA. High enough population that if our adult kids follow us they will be able to find work. sounds like you have thought things out. I had considered Idaho as well but I need to be closer to the water than that. I probably will always be near a coast somewhere. But then one never knows! Right now I have a friend trying to get me to Kuwait!

Hello, fellow Idahoans! Moscow is my home town, and I worked in Boise and Silver City (how many Idahoans can say that!) and have crawled around most corners of the Gem State over the years, from the Bruneau sand dunes to the Targhees, Selway, Salmon backcountry, Pend Oreille, Pioneers, and so on and on. And have family and life-long friends scattered from Bonners Ferry to Idaho Falls, thus many excuses to return often! Like proeye, I moved to the east coast for the career opportunities, but am now happy to be back in the Northwest (although my wife had preferences further west, so we landed next to the salt water). I still think White Pine is a higher form of life than Douglas fir, however! Look forward to seeing you, be it here or there! |
