Questions about Idaho?

Bring 'em on. I'm in SE Idaho and quite familiar and there are others that do or have lived in various parts of Idaho. Chances are we can answer your questions.

Re: Questions about Idaho?

I lived over there for awhile in Nampa, Meridian, and Boise and HATED it. I can't handle dry and lack of green. I felt like a fish out of water over there. It is funny, though, as my brother and sister in law live in Utah and when they come to western Oregon they feel claustophobic. I guess we all get used to a certain terrain and anything different can upset our comfort.

Where is SE Idaho do you live?

Re: Questions about Idaho?

Everyone should hear the good and the bad about an area. Just like people wanting to move to Portland should really here all of the bad stuff before moving here, as there are people that HATE this area.

Re: Questions about Idaho?

Oh I'm not debating that, I concur that a person should all facets of an area. Much better than being shel-shocked after making the investment of a move.

Take me for instance, I moved here from Fresno and when folks ask me about Fresno I'm honest with them about it.

Re: Questions about Idaho?

Is Idaho gay friendly at all? Looks like a nice state but probably conservative, right?

It is extremely conservative, no questinos about that. However, my cousin pointed out that even Pocatello has gay bars.

Not at all, then again my first stop was the DMV to swap out my plates. Had to laugh, out in CA you must surrender your former plates, the gals at the DMV here acted like they might get a plague and refused them

Not to mention, came here to appreciate how things were/are at the time. Have to admit, I'm not enjoyng the growth, butr if we decided to move all we'd be dong was the same thing elsewhere.

What I like about Idaho Falls:

A River runs through it.
If you live in Jackson, Alpine or Afton Wyoming, it's the closest town with real supplies - about 110 miles away depending on your location.
It's on the road to Montana.
Easy access to beautiful Swan Valley, Driggs and Grand Targhee!
It's a "spread-out" town with room to grow - much like Billings, Montana.

What I don't like about Idaho Falls:

Dang, that sucker gets snowed in with only three-feet of snow!!

Spread out? I'll say certainly! When we first moved here it blew me away at how spread out it was/is for the population.

I'm starting to get the feeling that you rate every place by "gay friendliness".
