Does anyone know the history of real estate values in idaho?

Does anyone know how fast the values of homes have gone up in the past, in the Bosie Area? In California the prices double after about 10 years. Just wondering how fast it has gone up in the past?

Re: Does anyone know the history of real estate values in idaho?

I can give you the info on SE Idaho.

We bought our home 12/31/2002. It's a 3 bed 1 bath, 1080 sq. feet fenced in backyard, newer roof, vinyl siding, vinyl windows, totally redone inside; carpeting, cabinets etc. and auto sprinkler system. We paid just under 80k and we had it asessed this past summer for the upper 90's. Not bad in just under five years.

A friend of mine around the block bought hers around eight years ago for somewhere in the low 60's and she's also got a hot tub and a covered patio out back and I'd guess her's is close to low 100,000.

Re: Does anyone know the history of real estate values in idaho?

I found a chart of Ada County (Boise) quarterly median home prices from 2000 through 2006 here. That data is from the Intermountain MLS, which has just released its 2006 annual report with a breakdown of home sales prices by area.

The OFHEO index tracks mortgages written on the same homes over time. This makes it a more reliable index of existing home values, although the growing proportion of refinanced mortgages (based on appraisals, not actual sales) may make it less reliable than it was in the past. OFHEO lists Boise-Nampa home values as up 4% in 3Q 2006, 26% over one year, 68% over five years.

The OFHEO existing home values have risen less than the MLS median sale prices, which include many newly constructed homes.
