Exclamation Big city crime hits small town

When I was watching the local news the other night I truly felt like I was right back in California!

This shooting took place less than three miles from our home and at a place we usually shop. What made it worse is that it wasn't a late night type of thing, but rather at 7:00pm on a Sunday evening.

WOW! Well, Walmart is going to like the exposure. Our walmarts here have drive around security. Does that one? Ours are open 24 hours a day. And I usually feel pretty safe at the one in Lodi, California.

Is there are large hispanic population in the area? I noticed the acticle said it was a group of hispanics who knew each other having a disagreement.

The are a fair amount of Hispanics here. I've never seen any security at our Walmarts and both are 24 hour super centers.

Well maybe someone should suggest it to walmart there. They do it here in California. They have little enclosed carts with red lights on top and two uniformed security riding in it.

Re: Big city crime hits small town

Did they ever catch the guy?

I wonder if it really would've helped much if there were a couple of rent-a-cops riding around in golf carts, in this particular incident?

Where is Ammon?

I was informed by someone on the force that the perp is most likely "back in Mexico" by now

As far as would the security guards made a difference? No telling as the Chief of Police for Idaho Falls happened to have been in there shopping at the time himself.

Ammon is in SE Idaho, right next door to Idaho Falls.

yeah, that's what I mean, if the chief of police was there, why would a couple of minimum-wage security personnel in a golf cart made any diff?

Ohhhh. okay ...I kept thinking of Twin Falls. I couldn't place where Ammon would be because I pass through TF often on my travels back and forth from Seattle to st. george.

Thanks!
