Early 30s couple moving from NYC to Chicago.?

Could someone recommend a few neighborhoods to consider looking at? We prefer a quiet and clean neighborhood where we can rent an apt/townhouse with a few quaint restaurants/cafes, etc. We will likely work in or near the downtown area, so someplace either close to an el line or metrarail.

We would also like to have a car, so preferably an area where parking is not a hassle.

Some good answers here.
Lincoln Park and Lakeview are big neighborhoods and they certainly have sections that fit most of your description but parking can be tough unless your place comes with a parking spot.
Bucktown/Wicker Park is similar, maybe a little more artsy, but not really that much and it is a little further from the lake.
Lincoln Square is a little more up and coming than the others so parking is a little better.
Andersonville is the new boystown and is a really great neighborhood, but still with parking issues.
Roscoe Village sounds like the perfect fit. It's only possible drawback is that it might be too quiet and the strip of boutiques and restaurants might be smaller than you are imagining, but otherwise it sounds exactly like what you are looking for.
