Moving from Chicago IL to Tampa FL Pro's and Cons?

My Wife & I Are Currently Looking To Relocate From Chicago Il To Tampa Fl We Have Two Younger Children Ages 4 And 1 Yrs Of Age But Are Worried About This Big Change And Wondering As Fars As Our Children Go If This Is The Right Move???

Both my girls were born in Tampa, we lived there until they were 11 and 5. It was a great place to live and raise kids as the schools are pretty good, and its a really friendly place to live.

If it wasn't for my youngest's health issues we would probably go back there as work opportunities seem to be better there.

The weather will be the biggest difference. Cost of living is about the same however, Florida has no state income tax

I've been to Tampa before. It's actually pretty nice, though not quite tropical enough for my taste. (they get damaging freezes about every 1 to 2 years). As for real estate, it is downright dirt cheap in many areas of Tampa. Look on Realtor.com and you will see how cheap Tampa, and even Florida in general can be for the average homeowner.
