Hey yall my family wants to move to liberal, kansas is that a bad place?

I totally need info on Liberal Kansas... Is that a good place to move to? IS there any malls near this place? Please tell me anything about liberal! please and thank you

Welcome to TalkStates! Not much traffic in the Kansas threads yet.

It looks to me like Liberal Kansas is out in the sticks. It looks like it's a very rural town of about 20,000+ and it may be near places that build airplanes.

I heard that it has about 60% hispanic immigrants and may be a good place to practice your Spanish.

It's pretty far from a good sized town for shopping, culture, etc.

I think that's where the Yellow Brick Road begins. Pancake racing is popular there too, whatever than means. You're not too awful far from Garden City, Syracuse (Kansas, not NY

) or Dodge City. I'm not sure what's in Oklahoma from there and you're near one of the most sparsley populated sections of Colorado. You're probably not too awful far from Amarillo Texas, unless you're on foot, then it's really far.

I hear that the HS has a great track team.

I'm thinkin that if you live near there, you'll become really good friends with the Schwan's Man. Looks like there's a WalMart Supercenter there. Up to you to decide if that's good or bad.

Good luck with that. I'd say visit first. If I was a farmer or a rancher, it's probably a great place. Hard workers, those farmers and ranchers. My hat's off to them.

The good news - for some folks anyway; there's a steak-house and a "big-breakfast" house in every town for many miles around. Try and learn to enjoy rodeo as a pasttime or a spectator sport. Towns in that area often have to create their own "fun" ... but they're pretty good at it.
Keep an eye to the sky for two reasons: one is, there are more UFO sightings in your area that in most places. another is, those twisty-plumes of wind called tornadoes. Sew a chin-strap on your Stetson!
