Moving from California to Kentucky ??

Hi, I'm considering moving out of state (CA) in search of a small hobby farm at an affordable price. From my online research, Kentucky really seems to be a fantastic opportunity. The weather is not too extreme, but what about the humidity? I would like to hear from anyone who has lived in both California AND Kentucky for a full year (each state) and can tell me truly what to expect weatherwise. I would also like to know about income taxes and property taxes, state taxes, and anything else that will affect my quality of life and/or finances.

Thank you!
My life-long dream is to have acreage and a quaint little farmhouse. I want to have 1 maybe 2 cows, 2-4 horses, chickens, a pond stocked with fish and a few ducks, my own organic garden, fruit trees.... I want more than what is feasible with California real estate prices (even with the price drop). Kentucky farms are very affordable and it seems like the weather is pretty nice.

Factoring in the humidity; Kentucky summers are almost as unpleasant as our summers here in the Phx area. And it has been known to hit -17 below zero in Louisville.

I am from the Mid Atlantic region so the weather in that part of the USA is familiar to me.

Best bet is to do your homework and visit Ky for a few days-------and, follow your gut. :)

You may be better off going with Tennessee
