| 17 yr old moving from louisiana to texas?
My niece who is 17 is wanting to move in with me, her mom says yes, her dad no. She is currently living with her grama in louisiana due to some family issues. Her parents are divorced and her mom has legal custody. She does not want to live in the area her mom is in due to those family issues and me and my husband along with my sister, her mom, agree that she would be better off living with us. Her grama has no custody rights as of now. Is there any laws in louisiana that would stop her from moving in with us. She has her moms permission and she would not be supporting herself. All the information I am finding says that a 17 year old in louisiana cannot live on there own. Does anybody have any suggestions legal wise.
