Maybe moving to Maine?

I’m thinking about moving to Maine. What are some nice little towns that are near the coast? And is it very expensive living there?

I think maine is a great state to live in... I am born and raised there. Property taxes vary wildly from town to town here... but usually living on the coast is pretty expensive. The overall cost of living isn't bad though. Plus it is beautiful! I live in Cumberland Center, about 20 mins from portland and only 15 or so from a beach. You don't need to be living right on the coast to have access to great beaches. I know that if you search around a bit there is a website that breaks down what the property tax is in each town. If you have kids, Yarmouth is probably the best public school system in the state, but there are plenty of private school options also. Although northern coastal maine is gorgeous, i personally like living within driving distance of portland.. it is so convenient. Also, consider living on a lake. Towns near the lakes regions might not be as expensive as on the coast and you still have the water!
