Re: Anyone Live in Ma?

I lived in ma before I was born. After I was born..... oh..... you meant Massachusetts...

Hmm, I think you may be the first. It is like Monopoly. You land on it first and you now own it.

Re: Anyone Live in Ma?

I will be home and doing my magic in the kitchen 1dog

Traditional dinner- well should I say a menu that can be best described as 'fossilized' after nearly 400 years.

Crab cakes and coconut shrimp for appetizers
Sparkling white wine- Brut/ Methode Champenoise

Roast Turkey in herbs
Homemade stuffing with onions, celery and sausage
Freshly cooked cranberries and orange
mashed potatoes/gravy
butternut squash in pure maple syrup
peas
More sparkling wine

Pumpkin Pie

then fall asleep

Re: Anyone Live in Ma?

This cold is to say the least early- average high here is 50, not 32 this time of year.
I had to cover my two Windmill palms- which though hardy to nearly 0- their fan leaves looked 'droppy'- I also brought in my potted palms- sabals and other windmill palms for the winter.

It will probably be 60 degrees in early December- crazy weather-up and down.

Re: Anyone Live in Ma?

Not really allot of work BB- as one learns to cook they learn so many shortcuts and creative way to use herbs, spices and other flavors.

Wine lover? I know wine reasonably well- but I also like Up Martini's- Vodka or Gin.

Dragonmaster....Here's Blantyre. What a gorgeous weekend we had there. This was the site of the wedding I mentioned on the CT thread. We stayed in the green wallpapered room as shown. I remember that very well!

Wow, nice place. And starting at only $550 per night, a real bargain

Re: Anyone Live in Ma?

A bit too pricey for me-yikes!
There is a place in western Connecticut- the Mayflower Inn- which has prices that are the same- its very jazzy- but dinner in their elegant restaurant and a night stay would force me not to be able to pay bills for the month.

Yes, I agree....very pricey!
That was a weekend we will remember forever, compliments of some very affluent people. Otherwise, we would have said....'sorry, can't make it'...... Waking up in a castle was phenomenal!
