| Lake effect weather
I hear about lake effect weather in the great lakes area. Weather like snow and stuff seem to have this tag put on it "lake effect snow" and such. Does this effect the entire state or is it centered more on the coastal areas?

| Re: Lake effect weather Mostly coastal areas as far as I know, and more on the eastern side of the lakes for lake effect snow because the weather usually comes in from the northwest across the lake. The Upper Peninsula of Michigan on the east side of Lake Superior averages more than 3 times as much snow as Duluth, Minnesota on the west side side of the lake. The western side of Michigan typically gets more than Chicago and Milwaukee. Cleveland and Buffalo usually get much more than Detroit.
