I am moving to gulfport, Mississippi any one know what it is like there?

I am moving to gulfport and I am from NC I am kinda scared I mean is anyone from there do you know what there is there for like children I have a two year old and also I plan on trying to get a job there do you know ho wthe employment is there?

I just left Gulfport MS, I loved it. Be prepared for a very Humid Summer environment. The Casinos are always hiring, stay away from Treasure bay though... trust me stick it out for the big boys in the area. But also note, that Casinos don't operate like a normal business. They work on a points system, no days off, and it can really suck. But they pay well, most of them.

Oh why did I leave Gulfport? Well I had a sick family member that needed my support and care, so I had to leave. But I did not want too.. I plan to go back some day.

There are lots of jobs in the area, all paying very well.. they don't have enough workers there so they are competing for every worker. Rents are getting high in the area.. because of the casinos and the fact its becoming a major tourist area, and the fact many of the houses were destroyed in Katrina, so there are not many options. And the ones that are there are priced higher. My old Landlord is a very nice guy.. Let me look up his number and I will send you a PM with his info so you can contact him about a place to rent.

As for your kids.. there are a couple cool places, but remember this place was hit harder than New Orleans by Katrina.. something the news people have over looked. But it is coming back fast.. unlike New Orleans.
