Havre

Years ago, I worked with a lady who was from Havre. She always used to tell me it was a nice town and that I should visit if I was ever near the area.

Never have visited but am thinking about it now.

Is it worth the trouble? Have any of you been there or lived there who could tell me a little more about it?

I know it has the reputation of having some of the coldest winter temperatures in the lower 48.

Only if you can handle the neighbor's cats who seem to think using my side yard as a litter box is a great idea

Cleozmom have the solution to your cat problems .read all of this before you decide I’m mean or not, some people might take this the wrong way.

Hears what I do an it is harmless but funny .I know because I did it
We have an air soft gun. pistol that shoots plastic B.B s . it is spring loaded an uses air
Presser to shoot the B B out . they don’t hurt if you are 10 feet away , I know because me an my son shot at each other once chest down you know . feels like a horsefly or dear fly bite. Any way I have about 6 to 9 outdoor cats that like to sit on my car an stuff . at about 20 feet away I’d shoot them in the but wile on my car . this thing only has a range of about 40 feet so their isn’t much power left when it gets there. I don’t want to heart them I just want them off my car . well I have them trained now, I don’t even need the B B s I just need to make the noise with the gun an they all scatter

I have a "nicer" way than shooting anything at a cat... you can sprinkle powdered cayanne pepper or even regular pepper in that area. That should keep them away. Reapply after any rain.. after a few times the cats shoud go find a new "litter box." I am a firm beliver unless you have a bit of land for your cats to run free.. they should remain inside for their own safety out of respect for your neighbors.

George, Azi has sent out the alert.. when you see the hundreds of cats gathering around your house... BEWARE!!!! You know who sent them!!!

That alert must have been out for a wile I had 18 last year . I think they heard the food was good . most of them get to friendly an when you com out of the house you have all you can do to keep from stepping on them . so the gun also keeps them a little skittish.
But I got this one little black one no matter what that likes to fallow me every ware.
So I guess I have one friend .

I am a pet person. And I have a special spot in my heart for cats...but I can't stand irresponsible pet owners. I had a neighbor who had too many to count. I for the most part kept them out of my yard doing the pepper thing but everyone was complaining... so I called the no kill animal shelter and we trapped them in my yard and had them fixed and and released them. After about a year they stopped breeding. Some we found homes for. One day she mentioned that her cats are disappearing and when I asked which ones... she couldn't tell me specifically. Not a good pet owner.

all my cats have names blackie tiger stripe an so on .
I use to take them to get fixed an shots every time I brought them home they would run away. Now the ones I don’t like I take for a ride an when I come home they leave .
Most of the strays are neabors an I am constantly shooing them away. 6 to 8 is good it keeps the mice away . I enjoy animal there funny to watch an nice to be around . I just don’t like it when they crap in my yard or driveway.

If I were anyone except who I am, I'd be sorely tempted to try that tactic. However, since I served for a few years as President of the Board of Directors for a local humane society I'm thinking it'd highly be a conflict of interest Probably wouldn't look much better than when I stopped at my sister's before heading to the adoption center to let her dog out to "potty" and he ran off down the road. Picture this! I'm wearing my humane society shirt screaming "Ranger! Ranger, if you don't get back here I'm gonna kill you!" Of course, I never meant the threat, but didn't want him to know that.

I guess I could try that, just wondering if I'd have to re-apply each day. See, even if I don't water that day, there's still enough moisture in the grass for morning dew.

Right now there's snow out there so it'd be of no use. We hit some warm temps not long ago and it was not pleasant. Before you ask, considering my line of work and my history, yes I've tried to get her to keep her cats inside....... since she doesn't keep the dogs inside I shouldn't have been surprised

Your to funny.

you could accidentally let your dog out the same time you see a cat.
I know when mine get loose a chain brakes or something ,I don’t see the cats for about a day.
