Decker

I've worked in Decker and I will tell you that in my life, it was the worst place that I've ever been. I will also tell you that it is the best hunting and fishing you will ever find.

1972. 58 degrees below zero with no wind. We rode our snowmobiles to work from Sheridan Wyoming because you couldn't get to work any other way. But, by God, we built Decker coal.

My mother in law, wasn't mother in law then, had the restaurant. There was only 3 buildings. Her restaurant, her trailer, and the bar/post office. Used to run over there for lunch. Wonderful food. Years later, I married my wife and when we went up to visit she said her mother lived in Decker. I said, "What!!!!!" You mean Nancy? We went to visit and Nancy came out and gave me a big hug and said, "Who you got with you." Down fall of a marriage when mother cares more about me then daughter. hahahahahaha

Now they've moved Decker to a new location. It's about 2 miles from the old location. Decker Coal had to mine under so they moved it. Just not the same. The old Decker Bar is now out at the Res. But they are only open certain hours and they don't care about the old clientelle. (sp)

Where are the old times?
