were in montana is the best place to move to?

hi i live in baltimore and want to move out west just want know about the jobs, crime rate and over all type of people that live there

There are many places which I would recommend, mostly in Western Montana. The East side of the rockies is mostly prarie but there are some very nice areas, chiefly I would look at Lewistown. In the west many to recommend. If you are a back to the land kind of person then "Mother Earth News" puts Thompson Falls in the top ten. If you like a liberal atmosphere then Missoula the "Berkely of the North" would be your choice. University town very well located for lots of amenities. My personal choice, where I spend summers, is the Flathead valley in the Northwestern corner close to Glacier Park and Flathead lake. Growing very fast and becoming "Californi-cated" but still great. Lots of jobs although low-paying and cost of living is quite high. If you have a nest egg then the housing right now is very affordable. Lots of outdoor activities summer and winter. Retirement magazine just named the Flathead Valley one of the top ten best in the US. Hard to beat!

Here is a view from the Eastern side of the state If you like wide open spaces, this is the part of the state for you. Real Estate prices are very comfortable, if you have school age children some of the smaller schools are closing and consolidating but there is still the unspoken code of help your neighbor. I really have enjoyed my time here so far. Two years coming up, it was a bit of a change but my husband and I are really happy with being out of the hussle of our old life.
