| Lake Mead...good for swimming?
We had to drive past Hoover Dam and noticed how beautiful Lake Mead is. Is it a good lake for swimming? It looked as though the shore would be kind of sandy, so I wanted to stop and check it out but we were running short on time. Is it a very deep lake? What about the dam...seems as though it would be dangerous to swim near there...you know...get sucked in and become fish food? Any information? I'm going to feel the water for sure next time.

It has a maximum depth of around 500 feet. It is low right now though at about 50% capacity I believe. | |
