I just moved to Reno NEvada and I am scared of earthquakes!?

I am terrified of earth quakes... I didn't know they had them here in reno Nevada(stupid) and now I feel them even thought theyre small and frequent I am scared ;(. I am alone in my home...how do you deal with earth quakes or what do u do to forget about them?????

Go talk to a counselor. This is not a reasonable fear.

Get prepared. I know it sounds simple, but it will give you peace of mind.

Put together an earthquake kit, have a disaster plan. Lots of info here from our San Francisco site:

One important thing that you'll need is a phone contact who is not in your state whom you and loved ones can call to see if you're all right. Phones will be jammed or down; incoming calls may not work, but you'll usually be able to call out of state.
