Want to get an idea of the area I'm moving to in Brooklyn?

Hi, been living in NYC for the past year an change in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. Recently an opportunity came on a great deal for a studio in a brownstone in Brooklyn close to Dean and Bedford. I am def taking the apt cause the price is great and I have visited the area on more than one occasion during the day and nightime, and feel very comfrotable. I am 25, single female who works in the fashion industry and just wanna get more of an idea of where I'm moving too. Remember I am not from NY, have only lived in Wash. Heights, and not familiar with Brooklyn at all. I have been doing a lot of research online about the area and know that there is a lot of development and exciting things happening in BK. Just wanna get more of an insiders feel about the neighborhood. Very excited about moving there, so anything would be helpful about the community, bars, shopping, etc.. thanks!
