Time Flies

Living in AZ for the last 18 years I forgot how early it gets dark here. Am I the only one or does time seem to go faster here than out west?

Where are you now?? You are IN AZ? Or you were in AZ? The west coast always stays lighter longer... with the sun setting in the west and all....

And you like to fish... have you tried that UniButter?

There are quite of bit of lakes here in NC. I live close to Lake Norman Its a bit over 500 miles of lake. The best way I can describe Birkdale is a small little town of Condos with stores and eating establishments on the bottom level with outside seating. It also has a movie theater in the middle of it all. Its pretty cool to go over there whether its to eat or drink or just have a coffee outside Starbucks. They also have live entertainment outside at times.

There is a couple big man made lakes in the area. He moved from Arizona and noticed all the lakes around, while I moved from Minnesota and noticed the lack of lakes.

I would guess charlotte is only about 1 ½ hrs from the ocean so all is not to bad.

You are sooooooooo funny!!! That's exactly right. We had no water in the desert. We did have some small little lakes you had to drive way out to find and they were nothing to look at. Lake Norman is like the ocean to us. LOL

It takes closer to 4 hours, it is around 200 miles and there is no big interstate highway going east from Charlotte.

I found driving around North Carolina to be a joy. The state is so beautiful in parts that the Ocean is reduced to being competitive instead of massively over-whelming as is the case in many coastal states.
Let me compare it for a sec to living in the Rocky Mountain states. Towns are spread apart in both areas. The scenery changes about once an hour or so in both. The long stretches of road cover mostly rural areas. Neither is the easiest session of driving you'll ever have.
So I only wanted to suggest ...
... Go!

The Charlotte area is so beautiful, I find myself just looking for excuses to keep driving around. I wonder if I will ever get tired of it.

Re: Time Flies

Has anybody tried out Cheese Burger on Paradise. Good stuff, we just ate there for Mother's day. It's Caribbean island theme and drinks so of course I ordered a Cuban sandwich with a side order of Island rice. I haven't had a real one since I left NY 20 years ago. Let me tell you, it was very good. If anybody is in the area Its right off of 77 exit 23. turn south on Northcross Drive. They also had a pretty good band playing some oldies.
