I'm a single, early 30s with no family, debts or obligations of any kind except for a decent long term job here. I need a change.

Be prepared for crazy high crime rates, worse local services, and people asking where you go to church all the damn time. I only lasted 9 months in Charlotte before I decided to get out. If you really need a change and want to move somewhere, draw a line connecting the southern border of Pennsylvania with the southern border of Oregon and stay above it.
