Humidity and summer temps

What would I expect during the typical summer in North Carolina for humidity and temperture? Do you have the dripping wet heat that never stops running down the back?

Yeah, that is pretty much what you get in summer here. I don't know if this past summer was average, but it was 90+ and very humid for a long period, probably well over a month straight after I moved here in the middle of July. I still enjoyed it though. I don't think it was any hotter or more humid than a very hot summer day in Minnesota and probably elsewhere too, it just lasted for a longer period of time.

In Seattle, even when we have hot humid days, the nights cool off so you can at least sleep. Is that your case, or do the A/C units run 24/7?

The A/C pretty much ran 24/7 in the summer. It cooled slightly at night, but not nearly as much as where I moved from, probably not like Seattle either, and it gets even more humid at night, many times in the low 90% range.

All I know is I'm freezing my butt off here in North Carolina. Tomorrow I'm going to Walmart and buying some thermal underwear. I'm not used to this cold weather brrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

It was over 70 on saturday and we were walking around uptown in t-shirts, now for the past 2 days I have had to scrape frost from my car windows in the morning.

Oh yeah that's right, I was warm on Saturday. I don't know what happened but it's friggin cold now

Haha...you've got to be joking. Cold is below zero with windchill.

I know but my blood is super thin from the Summer temps in the AZ desert I got my long underwear today.

That or you are supper skinny! I have worked out side in 20 below an a 20 MPH wind and hade to remove cloths because I was sweating so much . But I don’t like the heat
Above 90 95 I’ll stay in the ac an wait it out.

I have relatives that live in mesa during the winter they leave hear before thanksgiving
An return when the snow or cold weather is gone. From what I hear there are a lot of Minnesota people there!

What some ppl don't seem to realize is we need humidity. The lungs need moisture. I have a few friends in AZ...one of them got what is called Valley fever...that is when the lungs dry out...could be fatal. At least in Fl there is alot of rivers and lakes and the ocean. AZ is a desert...i love the outdoors and AZ is not the place for me...my one friend there used to live accross the street from me here...she was always gardening...she said she can't do that in Tuscon. She wanted to be by her family there so that's why she moved but she would rather be back here.

Well as I get older heading south for part of the winter doesn’t sound to bad.
But right now I WANT SNOW AN LOTS OF IT ! like Colorado

Yes lots of mid-western people. I have friends that used to live in Phoenix for a few years and then headed back to Minnesota.

My husband actually has a beautiful garden here believe it or not. He grows gorgeous roses and all kinds of plants. We have lived in parts of the Valley where we couldn't grow a darn thing. I think the ground was poisoned from something.

Valley fever is caused by Coccidioides immitis, a fungus. The fungus produces spores that can be inhaled when they get into the air. Spores are hardy forms of the fungus that can live for a long time in harsh environmental conditions such as heat, cold, and drought.

I think the weather here is perfect...since i am so close to the beach, there is always a trade wind..always a gentle breeze...always the warming sun for aching and sore muscles. I love being able to swim in my pool for 6 to 7 mos...I love being able to sit on my patio and bar-b-cue for Thanxgiving and xmas and Easter.
