Right on red arrows

Since moving to NC, I have learned that it is legal to make a right turn on a red arrow in this state.

Very odd to somebody like me that always lived in states where it was illegal.

I was wondering why people were always honking at me while waiting for a green arrow.

TS what is the requirement when transferring your drivers license?

A right turn on a red arrow? Why do they have an arrow then? Shouldn't it just be a red light then and not an arrow

I have been told that you have to take a written or computer test here to transfer it. I have still been putting it off since I arrived in July. I renewed my MN license plate tabs online in August and had them forwarded here too.

I find it weird too. I don't know why. Maybe just to mark turn lanes?

I think I have mostly seen turn right on red (but you MUST stop first) but no arrow....just the red light. The lane itself is usually marked with an arrow here, but not the light. May be different around Charlotte. Haven't been to Charlotte in years.

Well I'll have you over when my house is built in 7 months. Huntersville is like 2 hours from Raleigh.

I might do that for the first year. I have one more year left on my tags before needing emissions.

If you visit WA, be prepared for people turning LEFT on a red light onto one-way streets. Legal here.
