| Oklahoma Discuss, My daughter has a Chilean Red Tarantula, and recently moved it from california... at States forum; ...to oklahoma...? now it isnt eating, and seems to be getting smaller, not sure if it is my imagination or ... |

| My daughter has a Chilean Red Tarantula, and recently moved it from california...
...to oklahoma...? now it isnt eating, and seems to be getting smaller, not sure if it is my imagination or what. But she just isnt eating as much as she did. What can I do? we havent changed her food at all. just the crickets are from oklahoma not cali, maybe they dont taste as good? |

Any bugs that haven't been exposed to pesticides (2-5 crickets a week for adults). Many rosehairs are notorious for going on great fasts for no apparent reason. Some suspect they fast during the chilly winters in Chile (that pun had to be done, sorry), which is June through August, and may carry this trait with them to the northern hemisphere. I have one (in the top left picture on this page) that eats one or two crickets a month, and that after not eating anything for many months. If its rear stays plump, don't worry- it knows what it's doing.
