Today's Weather in Oregon

Rain with occasional showers, followed by sprinkles, and then back to rain. When will it end????? I need sun, damn it!!!! I think I am going through vitamin D deficiency. This has got to be the worst Spring on record. Snow in April? Where is the global warming??? Oh that's right, they say it will get WETTER in the Pacific Northwest because of Global Warming. Somebody is just out to get me. I think I need to move someplace warmer.......

PD, we're just 45 miles south of you - we had a glorious, sunny weekend. Took a drive south a bit (another 50 miles) on Saturday and then went hiking nearby on Sunday. It rained for a minute yesterday morning. Today has been on-again/off-again with scattered sunlight.
Maybe you just need to get out of the Columbia River area?
Oh, they still forecast rain for most every day - but some days, we don't get a drop!
I hear tell that it's even dryer in southern Oregon - but I don't know that to be the case for sure ... could just be crappoganda.

Re: Today's Weather in Oregon

It is drier down there. And lots drier east of the Cascades. Not sure if I would want to live in those areas. One town that is really nice is Hood River. Drier, sunnier, and close to good recreation and close to Portland

Don't feel bad. I live in Wyoming. Today it was a balmy 63 degrees. By Wednesday we'll have snow yet again, more freezing wind and temperatures in the 40's by the weekend. This isn't anything like spring in California--although I wouldn't move back to Lost Angeles for all the tea in China.

All the tea in China is a lot of tea. I am sure it would be tempting....... :)

We hit 78 in Sheridan today. I used to live in Skamainia. So I know what PDX is saying. Lived there but worked in Portland on Swan Island. Lot of difference in weather in just 40 miles.

Re: Today's Weather in Oregon

Well; we hit 99F today for our official high here in Phx today.

EDIT: the older I get (I will be 51 this year), the better Northern Arizona is looking-----specifically Yavapai County.

Anymore; I can deal with an avg. of 6" of snow per year provided the climate is otherwise dry.

30 years of Rocky Mtn weather and blizzards in June and September is the biggest reason we moved over to Oregon ... only to find that the long season runs about the same. One big difference though - didn't have to pull out the snow shovel once! Didn't have one car battery crack last winter from freezing.

Re: Today's Weather in Oregon

Did I find the "Whining about Rain" thread?
Is this it?
Good.
Seems like a good time to bring it up: In the past nearly 8 weeks, it has rained twice - and not much rain then although it seemed to wet things down well. Both times, only for half a day although one day remained cloudy and wet all day and evening.
It has been too hot for me in the Willamette Valley ... or, am I in the Santiam Valley? I find we're listed in both phone books. And it's mostly humid - not like the Rocky Mountain dry-heat I've become used to.
So, remind me to reference this when the winter rain-whine sets in, okay?
