Moving on $5000.00

Can it be done?

Can Moving to Portland be done on 5k?

Moving From El Paso, TX to Portland OR.

( wife is getting discouraged, because the cost of rent is so high there, and the cost of moving is also costly. )

Where are you moving from? I moved from Minneapolis to Charlotte on less including getting a temporary apartment. Moving all of our own stuff was tiring, especially into a 3rd floor apartment with no elevator, but it was also cheap.

It can be done. Go to ABF U Pack moving. Look it up. You pack the trailer and they move it for ya.

I hope it can be done on less than that. We are moving our cars as well. But doing all the packing ourselves. We are going to use the pods. But maybe I should look at the ABF u pack moving place.

Re: Moving on $5000.00

I edited the main post to show where we are moving from.

We have been looking and looking online for something, and nothing yet.. The wife is starting to get real scared. See we have it pretty easy now.. we live in a house that was willed to us by my grandmother, its paid for. So its a matter of paying taxes each year, no rent or morgage pament. Problem is I can not sell it. The house will be used by my uncle once we move.. he is living with us now. The house was willed with a condition it not be sold and was used to help any family member who needed it. So we are honoring that condition.

Since we live in Texas and Rick Perry made it no choice to inject drugs into our little girls, I have to get outta here. I will not allow a state to tell me I have to give this untested drug to my lil girl.

Also I have mentioned the many other reasons I must leave this city.. I hope we can do it.

Faith Brother. All is on faith. You're heading into the nearly unknown - you've done your homework. You've got your partner - you'll be okay.
Chin up.
Gee, wish I'd had 5 grand to move on at any point in my life!! I've moved a zillion times ... and almost every time on a grain of mustard-seeds! (only lost my tushie twice)
Faith.
