...York City suburb. How is ithe area? We are contemplating moving to the Scranton/ Wilkes Barre area from a New York City suburb. How is the area? I heard the prep school there is good. Is this true? How is the job market? Is the city clean? Run down? Is it a "walking city". Any info about the area would be appriciated.

It's great here!! You should come and check out the area before deciding though. That would give you the feel of the NEPA region. There are great schools, shopping and more in the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area. I am in Wyoming County just west of Scranton and it's great. We too are originally from NY and love it here.
